A day set aside for mother....
Brought a gift that most thought absurd....
For I gave her an electric edger....
And everyone laughed when they heard....
I have a wife who’s peculiar....
I have a wife who works hard....
For she takes loving care of six kids and her man....
And she loves to work in the yard.....
I’ve watched her care for her roses....
And I’ve seen dogwood trees come and go....
But then she would bounce, and strain every ounce....
On an edger, which made me feel low....
Some gifts are given for glory....
Some gifts are given for show....
But the gift I prefer, shows I’m thinking of her....
Which makes her feel better, I know.....
I know Mother’s day is for Mothers....
And Fathers get theirs in this life....
But it makes me feel good, as I knew that it would....
When everyone laughs... but my wife....
